Re[collect]

We went through some things together. A group of artists who graduated from Griffith University ten years ago. An entire decade of time has passed now. The bond remains resilient and engaged – a bond to our art practice, to a continuation of our art education, and our bond to support each other as artists.

In this exhibition we reflect on the past and evaluate how far we’ve come. The mark of time gives us pause and a moment to consider the road we’ve taken to date. Our university experience was life changing and consolidated our intentions and education as artists. We re[collect] as we gather and reflect on the notes of our student art practice and reconsider how we’ve arrived here. We ruminate on the happenings and occurrences, the strivings, and sufferings from this decade of time, to contemplate the contribution of it all to our present – who we are as artists now, an accumulated collection of experiences and practices we’ve gathered for expression today.
